LoP Sunil Sharma seeks probe into sports quota job list

Jammu, Jul 24: Leader of Opposition in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma has demanded an immediate inquiry into the selection process for sports quota jobs and the revocation of the recently released recruitment list (under this quota). “What has happened with the selection of athletes is a clear scam that ignores genuine talent and insults those who brought glory to J&K and the nation. Children were kept waiting; Divyang athletes were neglected and a flawed policy was used to benefit a select few,” Sunil Sharma, while assuring the delegation of Yuva Rajput Sabha and aggrieved sportspersons steering an agitation on this count. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader asserted that the party was wholeheartedly standing with every genuine sportsperson from both Jammu and Kashmir regions. “We demand immediate jobs for the deserving and a full probe into this injustice. If the NC government does not act, this will become a major people’s movement,” LoP cautioned. Seeking inquiry into the selection process, Sunil Sharma said that the fair probe would expose the discrepancies in the list of outstanding sportspersons. “How can 72 people from one single district, playing one single game, be pushed through, while genuine talent is ignored?” he asked. Lop Sunil Sharma asserted that it was not just administrative failure. “This is a deliberate conspiracy to promote regional bias. By sidelining our children who are our pride and our future, this NC government has mocked the youth of Jammu. The Sports Ministry, headed by a Minister from Jammu, was sleeping while this happened,” he alleged. LoP Sunil Sharma announced that BJP’s Sports Cell would prepare a factual report and the party would take the matter to every relevant forum. “We demand a fair inquiry into this entire selection. Jammu will not tolerate this injustice. BJP stands firmly with every sportsperson who has been denied his or her right,” he reiterated.
