Experts question WII’s environmental impact assessment of Tinaighat-Kulem railway line doubling project

A peer-reviewed study by 20 scientists from leading research institutions in Karnataka and Goa has questioned the cumulative environmental impact assessment (EIA) prepared by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) for the proposed doubling of the Tinaighat-Kulem railway line, alleging that it overlooks critical biodiversity and ecological impacts in one of India’s most sensitive forest landscapes.
