Director, Sericulture Development Department, J&K, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the department’s headquarters in Tulsi Bagh here to assess the progress of key programmes and schemes being implemented across the Union Territory. The meeting reviewed the status of cocoon auction markets organised and proposed for the current year, besides assessing the physical and financial progress under the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) programme and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The progress achieved under Silk Samagra-II for the financial years 2021-22, 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 also came up for review, with officials presenting updates on implementation and expenditure. During the meeting, the Director stressed the need for timely submission of requisite information and departmental inputs to facilitate effective planning and decision-making. He also directed officers to closely monitor the implementation of various schemes and ensure that projects are executed within the prescribed timelines. The meeting was attended by Additional Directors, Development Officers, Project Executive Officers, Deputy Director (Planning and Statistics), Accounts Officer, District Sericulture Officers and Managers (Seeds). Officers from the Jammu division joined the meeting through virtual mode.
